A man from Brits in the North West, a guest house owner, is in a critical condition in hospital after a gang of robbers attacked him in the guest house and shot him in the chest.
Lt.Colonel, Amanda Funani, a police spokesperson, identified the man as Riaan Venter(50).
“Venter, his wife and daughter were asleep when a noise disturbed them. Riaan went to investigate and was shot” said Funani. The attackers also assaulted his wife but at this stage details are still unclear. The robbers then ransacked the home and made off with a tv, money and other items.
Riaan Venter’s wife was also transported to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged. Riaan however is critical.
