Sannieshof Stock theft Unit together with police in Bloemhof arrested four suspects on Wednesday, 24 and Thursday, 25 October 2018 for stock theft.

The suspects’ apprehension came after the police made a follow up on information about suspected stolen livestock and ultimately searched several houses in Boitumelong location, Bloemhof. Upon conducting searches, the police found three carcasses and one sheep at some of the houses.

The search continued again on Thursday, 25 October 2018 and one carcass was found at one of the houses. Meanwhile, the accused, Piet Motlhoiwa 40, Tumisang Mangena 18, Moses Tlale 21 and Fena Duiswil 21, briefly appeared in the Bloemhof Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 26 October 2018 facing charges of stock theft.

They were all remanded in custody until Friday, 2 November 2018 for formal bail application.

Further probe linked one of the accused, Piet Motlhoiwa to another stock theft case in which a cow was stolen on Tuesday, 23 October 2018.
