An intelligence-driven operation resulted in the deaths of three suspects and the arrest of five others, including a police officer, following an ATM bombing incident in the early hours of the morning in Dinokana, Zeerust.
After the bombing, a multidisciplinary team tracked the suspects to Magogae Village in Mmabatho, leading to a confrontation between police and the suspects. During the ensuing shootout, three suspects were fatally wounded.
Five suspects were arrested, among them a police officer.
The arrested suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges related to ATM bombing, possession of explosives, and other related offences. Authorities confirm the team is currently tracking further suspects in this matter.
