On Monday, December 19, four suspects gained access to a farm in the Mareetsane area, North West Province.

The suspects wounded “Oom” Piet Vorster in his big toe and attacked his wife, Helga; they demanded cash from the couple. The suspects fled with a gun and cash in the direction of Bodibe (former Bophuthatswana homeland area).

The farming community reacted to the incident and transported Oom Piet to a hospital. Fortunately, he does not have a life-threatening injury.

The farming community followed the tracks of the suspects but they remain at large.

The police are investigating the incident.
