A farm murder was discovered on 2 August 2023, in Biesiesvlei area, in the North West province of South Africa.
Suspicion arose when Dr Carel Nel’s cattle were found walking in the road. A person went to investigate at his home and came upon the scene. Help was called and after a short investigation it was confirmed that Dr Nel had been murdered in his home in Biesiesvlei.
SAPS took over the scene. Forensics were on the scene and have also dispatched teams from Klerksdorp. Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident may have taken place a few days ago and it possibly took place during night time on Friday.
The house was broken into and it is unclear what is missing. The vehicles were not stolen and dogs were unharmed.
