A farm attack took place on 14 October 2019, at 22:40 at Langplaas in Brits, North west province. An elderly couple, Lem Theron (82), who is in a wheelchair and his wife (80) noticed at least two balaclava clad attackers at their bedroom window. When the couple shouted at them, one of the attackers opened fire on them, shattering the window. The woman had to be treated for shrapnel in her face. After the shooting the attackers fled the scene.
Monitornet SAPS and the ambulance service responded very quickly and whilst there were no other injuries reported the couple were severely traumatised. There is no other information available at this stage and there have been no arrests.
