On Sunday, January 15, Hennie Grobler and his wife were attacked on their farm outside Zeerust, on the Lichtenburg – Doornhoek Road.
Four armed suspects entered the premises and tied up the couple. The suspects assaulted both the farmer and his wife before fleeing with the victim’s motor vehicle a white Nissan NP200, and firearms.
Mrs. Grobler managed to untie herself and called for help. The farming community and police immediately responded.
An extensive search for the suspects began and Grobler’s vehicle was recovered. No arrests were made and the search continues.
The police are investigating the matter.
