Farm attack, workers tied up, solar batteries, inverters stolen, Mooinooi

A farm attack took place on the morning of 15 October 2021, on a smallholding in Mooinooi, in the North West province of South Africa. Farm workers were overpowered, assaulted and tied up by four attackers armed with handguns.

The attackers then proceeded to steal five large solar batteries and three inverters.

Heritage Protection Group (HPG), Magalies East Radio Group and SAPS Mooinooi responded to the attack.

Tracks were followed and they found four batteries and a roll of cable in the bush. The rest was presumably loaded into a vehicle.

With the trackers hot on their heels, they had no time to load the other items.

There were no arrests.

SAPS is investigating the matter further.

There is no other information available at this stage.
