A farm attack took place on Thursday afternoon 24 November 2022, on a farm in Brits in the North West Province of South Africa. A woman (31) was leaving her house when she was confronted by approximately five attackers armed with pangas an axe and knife.

The attack took place between 14:00 and !5:00. Three of the attackers assaulted and dragged the woman back into her home.

The attackers tied her up and brutally assaulted her with their weapons. They were demanding firearms.

A domestic worker was also assaulted but not seriously injured.

The home was ransacked but no firearms were robbed. The attackers then fled the scene.

The woman who was severely injured and still tied up managed to raise the alarm and all role players responded.

Hartbeespoort Emergency Medical Service attended to the woman who suffered serious head wounds and a broken bone.

She was transported to hospital where she has undergone three operations.

The police are investigating but there have been no arrests.
