Schalk (63) and Lana Coetzee (59), who were violently attacked on their farm Libertas in Reivilo, in the North West province of South Africa, are both having to undergo surgery for the serious injuries sustained. The horrific attack took place on on 6 June 2020, at 08:00, when four attackers savagely beat the couple and tortured Schalk with boiling water.
The the couple had to be transported to hospital for urgent medical attention and trauma support and are in the Gariep hospital having to undergo surgery. During the assault the couple suffered very serious injuries and were assaulted with extreme violence.
Adding to the trauma, and due to the lockdown, their children and other visitors may not visit them.
