A farm attack took place on 3 June 2019, in the Bokfontein area, near Brits, North West province. An elderly farmer arrived home and was overpowered by three attackers and tied up. He was forced into the home where his wife was also assaulted and tied up.They screamed for help and their son came to their assistance only to be shot. The son returned fire.
The attackers fled with the father’s car keys, cell phone and cash. Private security, SAPS and ambulance were on the scene. The victim was taken to hospital having suffered a gunshot wound to his arm, but is now recovering at home. No arrests have been made.
