Farm attack, man hospitalized after 2nd attack in under 2 months, Leeudoringstad

A farm attack took place on 6 August 2020, at 13:15 in Leeudoringstad, a small farming town in North West Province of South Africa. A man, Piet (canon) Pieterse and his daughter, were overpowered and assaulted on their farm by two attackers. The man has been seriously injured and has been evacuated to hospital.

The daughter was not seriously injured and has been placed with neighbours. She is receiving trauma counselling.

The attackers robbed them of their vehicle, a blue Toyota Yaris. Swift response by farmers and police saw the vehicle recovered and one attacker arrested a short while after the attack.

One attacker is still being sought.

This is the second farm attack the man has endured. He was also attacked on 12 June 2020, at 19:30. Two balaclava clad attackers, both speaking Afrikaans, overpowered Pieterse in his home and severely assaulted him with a panga. Uncle Piet was taken to Ancron clinic in Klerksdorp where he was admitted for a brain scan and head wounds.

There is no other information available at this stage.
