A farm attack took place on 21 june 2019, in Biesiesvlei area, in the North West province. Francois Labuschagne was attacked and robbed at about 18:35 by at least three attackers armed with wooden sticks who very severely assaulted him. He was ambushed and beaten when he had to stop and open a gate that normally stood open. He suffered severe wounds to his head, arms and body. His dog had also been poisoned.
Labuschagne was robbed of his vehicle, a green Nissan 1400 bakkie. The vehicle was later found along the Rooijan-Biesiesvlei road, where it is suspected that the attackers then fled in another vehicle.
