Farm attack, gun battle leaves first responder and 1 attacker dead, Groot Marico

A farm attack took place on Friday night 26 August 2022, in the Groot Marico area, near Zeerust, in the North West province province of South Africa. Pieter van der Westhuizen was killed by armed robbers who attacked a farm in the area.

Pieter van der Westhuizen, was shot dead after he responded to an attack on a farm worker on a farm in the area.

Pieter was one of a group of farmers who responded after a farm worker of Donald Seleka, who farms with cattle on a part of the farm Kuilfontein, was attacked by a group of men.

Pieter and another young farmer were patrolling on the Rietvlei Rd when they spotted a suspicious bakkie that was driving in the direction of the N4.

They turned around and followed the bakkie. The bakkie then stopped and Pieter got out to talk to the occupants. It is a remote area and back-up was not immediately available.

The occupants of the bakkie opened fire on Pieter and he returned fire. In the exchange of fire Pieter was shot.

Pieter managed to shoot one attacker dead and wounded another.

The wounded attacker and another two fled on foot. They are still being sought.

Pieter was taken to the state hospital in Zeerust where personnel tried to save his life but he died from blood loss.

Pieter was a real pillar of the community and always ready to help anyone. He was very active in all the safety structures.

One can also not help to notice that the ANC and EFF types, including the liberal media, who are always ready to create fauxrage racial incidents painting white people as racist, have still not said a word about a white farmer who gave his life to help a black farm worker.

Pieter has become just another statistic, just another white cross has gone up, and still the war on whites, especially farmers, continues unabated.

It is important that this and other similar stories get out on social media to help create awareness of the crisis in South Africa.
