Farm attack, gang try lure people out, smash windows, tie up worker, Broederstroom

A farm attack took place on 5 August 2020, at 22:30, in Leuwenkloof, Broederstroom, in the Hartbeespoort Dam area of the North West province of South Africa. Eight attackers first broke into a staff members room and demanded a key for the main house, which he never had, they then beat him up with a crowbar and tied him up.

They had thrown a rock through the bedroom window at the main house. The siren was set off by the owners and it seems that the attackers waited a while and then smashed a window with a pick handle in an attempt to lure the owner out of the home.

At this point the owner fired a warning shot causing the attackers to flee.

The attackers were trying to get the owners to come out of the house where it would be easier to overpower them. It is important to not go out of your home if you hear anything. Stay inside and raise the alarm.

There is no other information available at this stage.
