A farm attack took place on 11 July 2019, at 17:00 in Sandrift, Veekraal, Brits, in the North West province. An elderly farmer and a farm worker were attacked by approximately 12 attackers, of whom 6 were armed with handguns. The farmer suffered wounds to his face during the vicious assault and has been transported to a Brits hospital. Three firearms were robbed during the attack.
There are no reports at this point of any injuries to the farm worker. The attackers tracks were followed up to a nearby crossroads, where suspects were probably picked up. There is no other information available at this stage.
