A farm attack took place on the afternoon of 5 May 2021, at 16:00, in Beestekraal, in the North West Province of South Africa. Two attackers opened fire on a farmer, Pier Schutte (43). The farmer suffered two gunshot wounds leaving him seriously injured.
The farmer was shot in the chest and in the back. He returned fire on the attackers causing them to flee. He was evacuated with a helicopter to Milpark hospital in Johannesburg where he underwent surgery.
His condition is critical.
The police are investigating the attack but there have been no arrests.
