Farm attack, farm workers attacked, one shot five times, Skeerpoort

A farm attack took place on the night of 14 September 2020, on the Astley Manor Pecan Farm, in Skeerpoort, near Hartbeespoort dam, in the North West province of South Africa. Farm workers were attacked by an unknown number of attackers. During the attack one farm worker was shot five times. It is unclear at this stage what, if anything, was stolen.

It is also suspected that the recent attacks on farm workers is intentionally planned to firstly shift the focus away from the real issue, which is the onslaught against white farmers and secondly to intimidate workers on farms as the issue of land expropriation without compensation is being driven by the ANC.

All role players responded and attended to the worker and started following tracks. There were however no arrests. The condition of the worker, who was shot, is not clear at this stage but he received medical care by the response teams and was was transported to hospital.

There is no other information available at this stage. Police are investigating the attack.
