On Monday, April 10 three suspects gained access to a residence on a farm situated in the Klippan area, outside Lichtenburg.
The farmer whose name is Rupert, woke up when he heard dogs barking and the sound of glass broken. When he got up, he noticed the kitchen light was on and recognized a worker among the suspects. Apparently, the suspects broke through the internal passage door but did not account for an additional security gate and upon hearing the farmer, fled.
The farming community reacted to the incident, and the police were alerted.
The police did not lift any tracks for further investigation, and with the incessant rain, all traces of tracks were destroyed.
No arrests have been made.
