A farm attack took place in Zoutpansdrift, North of Brits, North West Province, at 01:00 on Tuesday 30 October 2018. An elderly male victim was attacked by 2 suspects when he investigated a noise close to the house. He was hacked using a machete.
It is reported that his dog, a boerboel, came to his rescue and this caused that the attackers to flee the scene. A welding machine and grinder were stolen. Attackers fled on foot. There is no other information available at this time.
