A farm attack took place on 25 June 2020, at 02:20, on a smallholding, plot number R116, in Roodekopjes near Brits, in the North West province of South Africa. Five attackers removed the glass sliding door and cut the security gate to gain entry to the home. The attackers were armed with knives and a pang.
The couple, Johann Breedt and his wife Susan, fought back and the male victim laid into the attackers with a sjambok causing them to all flee the home. The attackers had been at the home earlier in the evening on 24 June 2020 and after calling for assistance from local security the armed attackers fled. The attackers however returned during the early hours.
The couple, who were also attacked two years ago were fortunate to have been able to fend off the attackers and only suffered minor injuries. The female victim suffered a minor wound to her forehead.
