A farm attack took place on 10 September 2019, in Gerdau, near Coligny, in the North West province. At about 17:50, Gert and Janet Pretorius were attacked on their farm, along the Bospoort/Gerdau road, by a group of attackers. A massive and quick response saw four of the attackers arrested with a Nissan NP200 forty minutes later, in the nearby Coligny location. There is a lookout for the couples vehicle, a white Isuzu 2,5 D Tec, with registration HRV 276 NW, that was robbed during the attack. The left hand mirror on the bakkie is broken.
There is no other information available at this stage and it is unclear what, if any injuries, were sustained by the couple. Police are investigating the attack.
