Two stock theft accused, Petrus Nzimane Miga (29) and Thabang Moilane (24) will remain in custody until Friday, 22 June 2018 for a formal bail application. The duo appeared briefly before the Atamelang Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 15 June 2018.

That was after their arrest by the Provincial Stock Theft Task Team members, who responded to information from the community that the accused were seen on Wednesday, 12 June 2018, driving cattle alongside the road in Thawane village near Kopela in the policing area of Atamelang.

The accused allegedly failed to account for 16 cattle which the police found them driving. The cattle were seized and handed back to the lawful owners after positive identification.

The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane commended task team members and the community for their cooperation that led to the success.
