On Tuesday, 27 March 2018, a crime intelligence led operation by police in Boitekong and Phokeng K9 Units resulted in the arrest of two suspects both aged 34 for possession and dealing in drugs.

The pair was arrested at Seraleng at approximately 14:00 after a follow-up was made on information that the suspects were dealing in drugs. According to information received, the police conducted a search upon arrival at the suspects’ place.

During the search, plastic bags containing dagga with estimated street value of R67 000,00 was found inside the house.

The suspects were then apprehended and are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrates Court on Thursday, 29 March 2018 facing charges of dealing in drugs.

The North West Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Ryno Naidoo commended the members for their cooperation that resulted in the arrest and confiscation of the dagga. He said that the arrest will send a strong message that dealing in drugs is a scourge that cannot be tolerated.
