A cyclist was killed along the Schoemansdrift Road approximately 10 kilometres outside of Potchefstroom.
Shortly after 7pm on 11 June 2017, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the man several metres away from his bike. Paramedics found the man with severe fatal injuries. Sadly, there was nothing that they could do for him and he was declared dead.
It is believed that the vehicle which crashed into the cyclist left the scene prior to paramedics’ arrival.
Local authorities attended the scene and will investigate.
