Couple beaten to death with a spade, suspect sought, Lehurutshe

The police in Lehurutshe are on a look out for a 47-year-old man following an incident whereby two people were allegedly murdered in the early hours of Saturday, 18 April 2020 at Dinokana Village near Lehurutshe.

It is alleged that the suspect went to his ex-girlfriend’s home in the evening of Friday, 17 April 2020 at about 20:30 and asked to be accommodated for a night as he had nowhere else to go. The suspect was shown the outside room where he went to sleep.

The suspect allegedly went to the main house at around 01:00 and ultimately proceeded to a room where the ex-girlfriend was sleeping together with the current boyfriend. He allegedly broke the door with a spade, gained entrance and assaulted them with the same spade he used to break the door and thereafter fled the scene on foot.

It was later established that a 42-year-old boyfriend, Pogiso Molefe died at the scene while the 45-year-old Kgakgamatso Molefi was rushed to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The suspect is still on the run and police are busy tracking him.
