In a bid to curb trio crimes, two alleged house robbers, both aged 27, are expected to appear before the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 27 December 2018.

The suspects’ court appearance follows an incident that was reported in the early hours on Christmas, Tuesday, 25 December 2018, at Freemanville, Klerksdorp. A 28 year old victim was allegedly sleeping when the suspects forced entrance through the door into his room. The victim hid behind his wardrobe, whilst the suspects ransacked his room and took cash and cell phones.

The suspects were later arrested and stolen property recovered through the help of community members.

The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane commended the police and members of the community for working together to ensure that the suspects were arrested, shortly after the crime was committed. She said police will continue through Safer Festive Season operations to ensure that perpetrators are brought to book.
