In a continuous effort to turn the tide against crime, Brits Trio Task Team on Tuesday, 24 December 2019, arrested a 27 year old suspect that has been committing crimes in Brits and Rustenburg Clusters.

The suspect’s apprehension in Rustenburg, came after police in Boitekong received information about his whereabouts from his accomplice who was in detention in Boitekong.

Further investigation linked the suspect to business robbery which was committed in October this year in Brits. He and his three accomplices including the one in detention in Boitekong, were further linked to murder and business robbery cases committed in Marikana in July 2019.

A manhunt has been launched for two remaining suspects who are believed to be in Eastern Cape. He is expected to appear in the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 27 December 2019 facing a charge of business robbery. He will also appear soon at the Bafokeng Magistrates’ Court in connection with the Marikana murder and business robbery.

The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Motswenyane applauded police in Boitekong and Brits for their collaboration which led to apprehension of the suspects that have been terrorizing members of the community.
