Burglary suspects arrested in Hartbeespoort

Seven hours of hard work paid off when police in Hartbeespoort apprehended four suspects for business burglary and possession of suspected stolen goods. The suspects’ arrest emanated from an incident in which a shop was broken into and various goods including cigarettes were stolen at Meerhof between 7 May 2018 and 8 May 2018.

The police followed-up leads and an Isuzu bakkie was found on the R511 road, transporting suspected stolen cigarettes on Wednesday, 9 May 2018. Further investigations lead the police to Ten Rooms informal settlement outside Hartbeespoort. After 7 hours of hard work, four suspects were apprehended and most of the stolen goods as well as equipment that were allegedly used during the commission of the crime, were recovered.

The suspects, aged between 32 and 34, will appear in the Hartbeespoort Magistrates’ Court for burglary, possession of suspected stolen property and possession of housebreaking implements.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, expressed her appreciation for the members’ commitment that lead to the successes.
