On 24 June 2018, a brutal farm attack and murder took place in the Mountain Lake area in Broederstroom in the North West.

The attack occurred at 01:00 when three armed suspects overpowered a 28 year old female after she went outside her home to smoke. She was alone at the house with her 64 year old father at the time.

She was forced into the house by the suspects who tried to tie her down in the bedroom. She later managed to escape the scene and fled through the electric fence and bushes to the main tar road where two motorists came to her aid.

Her father was shot through the chest and died shortly thereafter. Their house had been ransacked and a 9mm pistol was also stolen from the safe.

The suspects fled the scene.

The CPF Hartbeespoort dam deeply regrets this senseless act and would like to convey their sincere condolences to the victim’s next of kin.
