The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena expressed his shock about the alleged killing of a 25-year-old teacher, Khumontle Mokgosi.

This after Mokgosi’s body was on Monday, 29 June 2020 found in her rented place at Magong Village near Mogwase. According to information at our disposal, the neighbours and members of the School Governing Body (SGB) conducted a search after the young teacher failed to report on duty.

Consequently, Mokgosi’s lifeless body was found with hands and feet tied up. It is suspected that she was strangled.

As a result, a case of murder was opened. Investigation into the matter is currently underway and no arrest has been effected at this stage. Police request anyone who may have information about the incident to contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Justice Ramosoeu on 083 616 0995.

Anonymous tip-offs can be communicated via MySAPS App or by calling the Crime Stop number 08600 10111.

The Provincial Commissioner pointed out that it is disturbing that the life of such a young teacher was brought to an abrupt end by merciless criminal/s amid calls by all sectors of society that gender based violence must cease. He indicated that the police are working hard to ensure that perpetrators are brought to book.
