Ghupeld Johannes Buis (52), Benedine Matthysen (41), Meshack Modise (35) and Marians Charlie Vokonqoshe (30) have on Wednesday, 22 December 2021, appeared for the second time before the Bloemhof Magistrates’ Court for dealing in drugs.

The accused’s court appearance stems from their apprehension through crime intelligence driven operation by Bloemhof Visible Policing, Rapid Rail Police and K9 Unit members in the early hours of on Friday morning, 17 December 2021.

That was after the police received and operationalised information about suspicious drug dealing activities at a certain house in the area. Upon searching the identified house, 123 mandrax tablets were found and seized while the four accused were arrested.

The accused were each granted R1500.00 bail and the case was postponed until Wednesday, 26 January 2022.

In another unrelated incident, a 32-year-old Johnny Links was on Monday, 20 December 2021, released on warning following appearance before the Bloemhof Magistrates’ Court for possession and dealing in drugs (crystal meth).

Links is expected to reappear before the same court on Wednesday, 02 February 2022. He was arrested at about 07:00 on Friday, 17 December 2021, at Coverdale Location, Bloemhof after being found in possession of drugs.

Investigation into both cases continues.
