In another crime intelligence driven operation, the police in Rustenburg in conjunction with the Cluster Crime Combating Unit arrested four suspects aged between 32 and 33 for fraud on Tuesday, 16 January 2018.

The arrest came after the police acted on a tip off that the suspects were producing fake documents.

During the arrest, the suspects were found in possession of fake passports and various certificates. They were also found in possession of computers, monitor screens, a laminating machine, a scanner, a laptop, and one digital ink duplicator that are allegedly used to produce false documents.

This is the second crime intelligence driven operation in Rustenburg. In the first incident on Tuesday, 16 January 2018, a 52 year old man was arrested for conning unsuspecting members of the community under the pretext of multiplying their money.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on 18 January 2017 on a charge of fraud.
