In a continuous effort to address stock theft, stabilisation team members arrested on Wednesday, 1 June 2022, three suspects for being in possession of suspected stolen livestock.

According to information received, the members received and operationalised information about suspicious cattle that were found on a farm in Makgobistad village outside Mahikeng.

The members reportedly intercepted three males who were found in possession of 12 cattle and four calves. Furthermore, the carcass of a slaughtered cow was found in a shanty near the kraal.

The three suspects, aged between 24 and 30, were consequently arrested after failing to account for the possession.

They are all expected to appear before the Molopo Magistrates’ Court in Mmabatho on a charge of stock theft.
