Two suspects aged 46 and 51 were arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation for illegal dealing and possession of unpolished diamonds in Christiana on Wednesday 6 January 2021.
A sting operation was conducted where unpolished diamonds worth approximately R50 000-00 were found in the suspects’ possession. The diamonds were subsequently seized for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the suspects are expected to make their first appearance before the Bloemhof District Court on 8 January 2021.
