On 29 December 2017, a Crime Intelligence driven operation by Boitekong Vispol and Rustenburg K9 Unit led to the arrest of a 41 year old suspect for possession of suspected stolen goods.

The goods were found inside a shack belonging to the suspect at Popo Molefe Informal Settlement.

The goods include laptops, 15 cell phones, a flat screen television and an unlicensed 9mm Norinco pistol. The suspect was positively linked to a house robbery that was committed in October 2017 in Mogwase.

Upon further investigation into the matter, another suspect was arrested for illegal possession of firearm. The suspect was found in possession of a hunting rifle in Rustenburg North.

Both suspects are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 2 January 2018.
