The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane welcomed the sentence handed down by the Klerksdorp Regional Court on 17 August 2017.
Tebogo Sibondo (23), was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for raping a 20 year old woman on 26 January 2016 in Jouberton.
That was after the accused forced the woman who was walking on the street into his house and raped her several times during the night. The woman was only allowed to go home the following day.
The matter was reported to the police in Jouberton who traced and arrested the suspect.
