So, Robert Mugabe is “revolted” by the xenophobia in South Africa. We are all revolted by that. No person in his right mind can condone the sheer barbaric horror that this country had to face for two weeks now. No civilised human being can find any justification for the stabbing and hacking and burning and stoning of any other person simply because he or she was born in another country.
Much less when that person was born in the same country, as is the fate of the white farmer or the Indian shopkeeper. Indeed, every sane person is revolted by that. But Robert Mugabe being revolted! For crying in a bucket! Such hypocrisy! In the same week, Mugabe, you were the one who set an example with your racist remark : “I don’t want to see a white face!”
You came here, to my country, to tell me that you don’t want to see my face. And then you are revolted by xenophobia! You drove the white population out of your country reducing the “Bread Basket of Africa” into a slump with an economy entirely dependant on the money sent home by gardenhands and domestic workers! But you are revolted by xenophobia!
You approved of every insult and act of oppression committed against the European population of Zimbabwe and South Africa, no, in fact, you instigated most of it…but you are revolted about xenophobia…that, in itself, is revolting. Who exactly does this shrivelled up little Rhodesian gecko think he is, even to have an opinion on matters of racism or xenophobia!?
But worse than that…Jacob Zuma is his buddy… Why then, does anybody still believe that there is a future for the New South Africa? Why then does anybody even imagine that the Afrikaner/Boer people would WANT to be a part of such a country? Why then does anybody cling to the hope that a long-time-never-to-come, pie in the sky, DA government might change things?
The government is not the problem, the ungovernable country is the problem. South Africans of European descend have been the target of xenophobia for 2 decades now. We have seen a month of senseless violence and vandalism against the symbols of European civilisation in Southern Africa. One after the other of our statues and monuments are destroyed and desecrated as an act of xenophobia. And nobody paid attention to that.
Now that fellow Africans become the target, suddenly the rest of Africa is up in arms. Why does the rest of the world not follow the example of Mugabe and become revolted at the hatred that we have to live with in South Africa under the ANC of Jacob Zuma? Hatred against white people, Indian people, Pakistani people, Khoisan people… hatred and destruction and murder and mayhem and anarchy.
Is it possible that Robert Mugabe could be the conscience of the world? God forbid! If Mugabe wants to be revolted about something, his and Jacob Zuma’s creation is ample reason for that.
Why the rest of the world is not revolted yet is beyond my capability of understanding.
