The local community newspaper, Middelburg Observer, reported that Christa Pohl (40) was assaulted on her farm on Sunday, 25 June 2017.
According to the paper, Pohl confronted a group of men who trespassed on her property and during the confrontation was beaten and kicked when she refused to let them enter through the gate. While the suspects were assaulting Pohl, they said, “I will kill all your whites.”
The previous night one of the gates on the farm was broken by a group who illegally buried a relative on the farm, about thirty kilometers east of Middelburg.
The police were notified and responded to the incident, but no arrests have been made.
