Two suspects arrested for possession of drugs

Two suspects aged 31 and 33, were busted in the early hours of Wednesday, 14 December 2016 after they were caught in possession of drugs at their apartment in Nelspruit.

The suspects’ arrest came as a result after joint effort by members of the Crime Intelligence Unit in the province and the White River K9 Unit, after receiving information regarding certain men who were allegedly dealing in drugs. The information led the police to the apartment of the suspects and a search was conducted. It was during the search when police found and seized heroin drugs to an estimated street value of R137 000, an undisclosed amount of cash as well as a scale believed to be used in the measuring of drugs.

A profiling of the suspects is underway to establish their possible involvement in other crimes. The suspects are expected to appear before the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on 15 December 2016.
