A 22-year-old man was arrested for stabbing a 21-year-old male in the abdomen. The incident reportedly took place in the early morning of 10 November 2022 around 03:00 am at Sonpark BP Garage in Nelspruit.

It is reported that on the day in question the two allegedly had an argument when the suspect drew a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated and later discharged.

Police opened a case of attempted murder and the suspect was arrested on the same day (10 November 2022).

He is expected to appear before the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 14 November 2022 facing the charge of attempted murder.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has strongly commended the bizarre incident and urged members of the public to refrain from acts of violence but rather solve matters in a civilized manner.
