Standerton Police Arrest Man with R200,000 Worth of Dagga

A 33-year-old man was arrested on the R38 in Standerton after police seized dagga worth an estimated R200,000 during a joint K9 Unit operation on 01 June 2025.

According to authorities, police received intelligence at approximately 10:00 about a vehicle transporting dagga from Ermelo to Standerton. Acting swiftly, officers intercepted a white Toyota Hilux single cab on the R38. A subsequent search uncovered 120.8 kg of compressed dagga, with an estimated street value of R200,000.

The suspect was charged with dealing in dagga and driving without a valid license. The vehicle, registered in his name, was confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation.

He is expected to appear in the Standerton District Court today, 02 June 2025, to face the charges.
