On 21 April 2018, at 03:00, in Aerorand, Middelburg, Mpumalanga, a couple was woken in their bed by three armed suspects who started viciously attacking them. They started stabbing the man with a knife but he managed to get hold of his firearm.
He shot at the attackers killing two of them and the third is in critical condition in hospital.
Police are investigating.
