Seven suspects attacked a Home for the Disabled on a farm

The police in Mpumalanga are looking for a group of seven suspects who attacked a Home for the Disabled, on a farm near Balfour on Tuesday, 28 February 2017.

According to information, a contract worker was at the home with his manager when they heard a knock at the kitchen door at about 22:00.

They looked through the window and saw three unknown men who told them to open the door and threatened to shoot them.

Another four men were already inside. They demanded money and tied both victims with cable ties after assaulting the contract worker with a crowbar.

The suspects could not find any money and they instructed the manager to write them a cheque of an undisclosed amount of money. Thereafter they took two cell phones and also demanded the keys of a Toyota Quantum belonging to the home. The suspects fled the scene using the Quantum.

No arrest has been made so far and investigations are continuing. The Quantum was found abandoned along the road.
