Five men suspected to have been responsible for the murder of a 29 year old man, during a farm attack at the Simonsvlei farm, in Komatipoort on Sunday, 17 June 2018, are expected to appear at the local magistrates’ court on Friday, 29 June 2018, facing a murder and attempted murder charge.
Three balaclava clad men shot and killed both the 29 year old man and the farm owner, a 59 year old woman, during the attack before fleeing the scene after they were disturbed by the woman’s son.
During investigation, Rawun Mhlanga aged 28, Derrick M.kamo aged 24, Sifiso Madonsela aged 33, Oscar Chauke aged 36 and Solomon Msimango aged 33 were arrested from separate locations around the Tonga precinct on Wednesday, 20 June 2018 and they appeared at the same court the following day.
They are expected to start the process to apply for formal bail application on their next appearance.
The Provincial Commissioner of Mpumalanga commended the dedicated team of investigators for the speedy arrests.
