Police recovers body of boy at Olifants River

Yesterday Search and Rescue team recovered a body of an 8-year old boy who drowned at the Olifants River near Kriel on Thursday, 22 December 2016.

According to information, it is alleged by other boys who were with the victim that they were chasing a porcupine when the boy drowned.

Police divers searched for the body since the incident took place and only managed to recover the body yesterday.

As a result, police in Mpumalanga are warning the community to look after their children, not even allowing them to swim without supervision as the rain continues to fall down.
