Police continue to search for suspects who murdered two women

Police in Mpumalanga are still hunting down suspect(s) in connection with a case of murder in which a 25 year old woman was killed at Tweefontein near Zamani Primary School. The incident took place on Saturday, 28 December 2019 at about 08:30, wherein police were alerted by members of the community regarding a woman’s body that was seen lying in an open field.

Police rushed to the scene and upon arrival, discovered the lifeless body of a woman with multiple stab wounds. The woman was identified as Sphiwe Mtshweni. Medical personnel were also called to the scene, where the victim was certified dead.

A murder case was opened and detectives have commenced with their investigation. An autopsy was also conducted on 30 December 2019, and preliminary results confirmed that there were no body parts missing. However the victim’s body had severe stab wounds and was covered with blood.

The police continue to appeal for assistance with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) by calling Captain Vusimuzi Mahlangu at 0823189894 or contact Tweefontein SAPS on 0829229412.

Meanwhile police are still looking for a 35 year old man in connection with a murder that occurred at Elukwatini. Reports indicate that on Thursday, 26 December 2019 a 25 year old woman, Laurencia Zinhle Mathebula was walking with her cousin when they were approached by the suspect.

According to police information, the cousin left the two to have a private conversation and moments later heard gunshots. He (cousin) went to investigate and found she had been shot multiple times and immediately alerted the police but the suspect was found to have absconded the scene in his white bakkie.

Police rushed to the scene and found the lifeless body of the victim lying on the ground with multiple gun-shot wounds in various parts of her body. Medical personnel were summoned to the scene as well where the victim was certified dead.

Police immediately commenced with their investigation and a manhunt for the suspect has ensued.

The police appeal to Skhumbuzo Patrick Khoza whom it is believed that he can be of great value on the investigation of this matter to contact the police as soon as possible. The community is also urged to assist with information that could lead to the possible whereabouts of Khoza by calling Detective Sergeant Mancoba Gordon Mahlangu on 0726264957.
