A 32-year-old suspect linked to the murder of Sergeant Ngwenya and Japhta Mnisi that occurred in October 2021 was arrested on Monday afternoon 3 January 2022.
The suspect was traced to his hide-out in Barberton by the Mpumalanga Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team and their counterparts from the Provincial Tracing Task team.
This is a second arrest after a 42-year-old former ward councillor, Lifa Blessing Nkosi who remain in custody was arrested late last year.
The additional suspect is expected to appear in the Barberton Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, 5 January 2022.
The search for outstanding suspects continue.
