Four suspects, aged between 17 and 52 are expected to appear before the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 18 February 2022 facing a charge of murder which occurred on Wednesday, 16 February 2022, at Extension 14 Kwaguqa in Vosman.

The appearance of the suspects emanates from an incident in which a man’s body was discovered inside his Toyota Hilux Legend 40 bakkie, just outside the yard of his house in Vosman.

It is said that on the day in question, police were notified by a family member about the gruesome discovery.

Upon arrival, police conducted their probe and the preliminary findings revealed that his body had some visible bruises which suggested foul play where the victim seems to have been severely assaulted.

A murder case was then opened accordingly and the investigators immediately launched a manhunt for his killers.

The victim was identified by his family as Mr. July Mahemu, aged 34.

Police also learned that the man was a motor mechanic. The astute team of Detectives worked tirelessly in their probe where they collected pieces of information which led them to the suspects hideouts. They then made a breakthrough when they cornered and arrested the four at their places of residence in Vosman area.

The four suspects allegedly involved in the murder are somehow related to each other but the motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has praised the team of Investigators for the swift arrest. “We are so proud to work with such a dedicated team who nabbed the suspects within a short space of time, two days to be specific. We hope that justice will be served for the victim’s family.” commented the General.
