The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has acknowledged with appreciation the recovery of a white Hyundai i35 SUV at Kanyamazane on the morning of Friday, 29 April 2022, around 07:00.

A 22-year-old female has since been taken in for questioning meanwhile two male suspects fled and evaded arrest.

According to the report, members of the Detective Branch from Kanyamazane received information about a suspected stolen vehicle at a certain house from the intelligence structure of the police in Mpumalanga.

The details were followed by the members however when they drew nearer to the house, two male suspects fled the scene to evade the arrest. Police then found the said vehicle and on further inspection, it was then realised that the car was reportedly stolen at Middelburg in February 2022.

The woman was then apprehended for further investigation meanwhile the vehicle was confiscated.

The members are still in pursuit of the suspects who are believed to be connected to the recovered vehicle. Police are convinced that Mr Ntokozo Shongwe, who is originally from the Kingdom of Eswatini, can assist in the investigation hence he is requested to contact police or go to the nearest police station.

Members of the public are urged to inform police of his whereabouts by calling the Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or send information via MySAPS app.

All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
